The Imperial Palace is another (see Harrah's) casino that is much larger on the inside than it appears from the outside (kind of like a Tardis!). Amazingly the Imperial Palace boasts 2,700 rooms (if you don't believe me check out the official web site!) although you would be hard-pushed to spot them from the Strip. The frontage is OK to look at - the Chinese theme is immediately clear - but once you step through the doors into the casino it all goes a little strange…..

The casino at IP is actually split in two. The first section is a tiny slot-only area. To get to the main casino, you either have to take a tunnel under or go through a door (back outside) and walk across the Porte Cochere before entering the main casino area. Very very odd - and really not that impressive.
Once into the main casino things do brighten up - for a while. The table area looks really good - low Chinese style wooden beam ceilings (complete with Chinese dragons on each corner) run the length of the table section. But once you get back to the slot section it's a bit of a disappointment - just a big concrete room full of slots.
Again, I can't comment on the rooms at the IP having not stayed here, but I have read a number of reviews on other sites (on the A2Z Las Vegas site) and whilst there are good reports, the bad ones sound fairly bad….
