Harrah's is a little tricky to categorise. It's a big resort - over 2,500 rooms - yet it doesn't have a very big presence on the strip - maybe being somewhat outshone by it's neighbours - Mirage, Caesars Palace and the Venetian. The frontage is nice - having been re-designed in the last few years, and accurately puts across the theme - which is kind of Brazilian Carnival (in fact the whole place feels very similar to the Rio - which is no real surprise since they share a common theme) - although if I have a criticism it's that it has just a little too much concrete….<

Inside the theme continues in an understated kind of fashion, and although the casino sprawls a little, it has a good feel to it. Outside the casino is a rather cool area (which can be seen on the second photo on the Imperial Palace page) featuring, under the carousel, an out-door bar, and slot contest area - and to top it off, there's a Ghirardelli shop and café! Nice. Other than that, it's a nice big resort that doesn't over-play itself and is worth a look in passing, but not if it's out of your way.
